ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran
"A leader is someone who can translate a vision into a program.
It's someone who is ready to take action to transform a disturbing situation into a better reality."
Major General (Res.) Doron Almog is the Founder and Chairman of ADI Negev-Nahalat Eran, a residential and rehabilitative complex for children with disabilities, exemplifying diversity, inclusion and acceptance. Inspired by and dedicated to his son Eran who, born with severe autism, lost his battle with Castleman’s disease at the age of 23 and for whom Doron battled the status quo in search for the best possible care available. Today, ADI's rehabilitative village in Israel’s south and its residential center in Jerusalem serve as international role models for loving care combined with the world's best rehabilitative solutions and educational, vocational and social opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds and levels of need.
During his over 30-years long service in the Israel Defense Forces, Doron served in and led a number of elite units in open and clandestine operations, among them the rescue of the Entebbe hostages and the airlift of 7,000 endangered Jews from Ethiopia, and was responsible for the protection of Israel's southern boarder as the head of IDF’s Southern Command.
In 2016, Doron was awarded the Israel Prize for his lifetime achievements – and for leading a revolution to advance the caring of Israel’s most vulnerable population.
